David M. Kessler is a contemporary abstract painter, nationally recognized workshop painting instructor, author, speaker and juror dedicated to helping people become better painters, period. Through live workshops, books, videos and online training programs he helps painters, both amateur and professional alike, to loosen up their painting style, understand art design fundamentals and discover the joy and freedom of abstract painting. David is a signature member of the North Carolina Watercolor Society with honors including The Jack Richeson Award, Daler-Rowney Award and Richard W. Tripp Memorial Award.
David spent nearly 30 years practicing architecture, but left that career behind to focus on serving artists through art education. He is the author of “Bigger, Faster, Fresher, Looser Abstract Painting Workbook”, and founder of Abstract Painting Academy, Design Fundamentals for the Artist and Abstract Painting Insider. His award-winning paintings can be found in corporate collections in North Carolina and private collections worldwide. He works out of his studio in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
