I dabbled in arts and crafts for many years while working full time as an IT Project Manager. In September of 2014 I discovered colored pencils and after a few months of practicing I realized that drawing was all I wanted to do. By August of 2015 I quit my day job to pursue art as a career. In less than 2 years I created more than 60 colored pencil drawings. Many of my drawings have won blue ribbons and best in show in competitions across the country. My artwork has been exhibited at multiple venues including a 2017 exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Las Vegas, Nevada. Many pieces have been featured in numerous books and magazines including Colored Pencil Magazine, Southwest Art Magazine, Faber-Castell 2016 - 2017 Art & Graphic Catalog and Strokes of Genius 8 - Expressive Texture.
It wasn’t long before I discovered my joy of teaching and along with teaching my own workshops and creating online tutorials. I’ve also had the pleasure of being invited by Faber-Castell to demonstrate their products at venue’s and to be a highlighted artist in their mobile sketchbook project 2016. Although I enjoy multiple mediums and an occasional still life, photo realistic colored pencil portraits are my favorite form of artistic expression. I’m currently working on a memoir covering my art journey. My desire is to spend the rest of my life deeply immersed in the art community inspiring fellow artists and art enthusiasts along the way.
